The purpose of this is so that you are better informed about what is happening in the world and across the country. I keep these stories brief and to the point so you can read them within 5 minutes.

In one of the week’s wildest stories, at least 24 million bees were accidentally released in Texas after a truck carrying approximately 400 beehives overturned. Each hive reportedly contained between 60,000 and 80,000 bees.

In congressional news, Texas Congressman Keith Self has introduced a joint resolution to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which established the direct election of U.S. senators.

In Jeopardy news, Adam Remsen won his 10th consecutive game on Jeopardy! With the victory, he became a Jeopardy Super Champion, passed Tristan Williams for the No. 3 seed in the next Tournament of Champions, and increased his total winnings to $228,806.

In political news, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy has introduced legislation that would raise the federal minimum wage to $25 per hour.

In food news, Krispy Kreme is giving away a free doughnut on July 4 to customers who wear red, white, and blue to participating locations.

In television news, Dutton Ranch has officially been renewed for Season 2 on Paramount+.

In streaming news, Invincible has officially been renewed for a sixth season.

In WNBA news, the Women’s National Basketball Association suspended Alyssa Thomas for one game following an incident involving Caitlin Clark during their game.

In media news, Janice Dean announced she is stepping away from Fox News after 22 years due to advancing health complications from multiple sclerosis.

In movie news, a Donkey-centered spinoff of Shrek is officially scheduled for release on June 30, 2028. Eddie Murphy will return to voice the beloved character in an origin story exploring how Donkey became who audiences know today.

In Ohio politics, Governor Mike DeWine vetoed legislation that would have required photo identification for voting by mail.

In entertainment news, Amazon MGM Studios and director Denis Villeneuve have reportedly scheduled the next round of auditions for the next James Bond film. Around 20 actors are said to remain under consideration for the role of 007.

In European news, Denmark is considering a nationwide ban on mosques broadcasting the Islamic call to prayer. Immigration Minister Morten Bødskov argued that Islam has become too visible in public life.

In Texas news, Camp Mystic has filed for bankruptcy nearly a year after catastrophic flooding claimed the lives of 28 people at the camp.

In European politics, Romania’s lower house of parliament has advanced legislation proposing that Romania and Moldova become a single sovereign state. This now heads to the Romanian Senate.

In election news, the United States Postal Service announced it will not deliver mail-in ballots for the 2026 midterm elections to states that refuse to comply with President Trump’s executive order on election integrity.

In constitutional news, the Supreme Court of the United States struck down a Hawaii law restricting when firearms could be carried on certain private properties open to the public, ruling that the law violated the Second Amendment.

In immigration news, the Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to end temporary immigration protections for Haitian and Syrian migrants.

In crime news, Indianapolis resident Kevin Singh has been arrested and charged with stalking Sophie Cunningham of the Indiana Fever.

In government news, Postmaster General David Steiner told Congress that the Postal Service has a broken business model and warned that the agency has run out of cash and is borrowing from employee retirement funds to continue operations.

In health news, the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded the highest number of confirmed cases during the first month of any Ebola outbreak in Africa.

In Alaska politics, an Anchorage Superior Court judge ruled that a challenger to Senator Dan Sullivan, who is also named Dan J. Sullivan, is eligible to appear on the Republican primary ballot. The decision is expected to be appealed to the Alaska Supreme Court.

In African affairs, Burkina Faso has cut diplomatic ties with its former colonial ruler, France.

In gaming news, there are currently no plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI on a physical disc in the foreseeable future.

In legal news, Judge Tony Graf denied a defense motion seeking to remove capital punishment as a possible sentence for Tyler Robinson.

In crime news, former National Security Adviser John Bolton pleaded guilty to illegally retaining classified information. He faces a potential five-year prison sentence and fines of up to $2.25 million.

In election news, the Republican National Committee has filed a lawsuit against Colorado’s secretary of state, alleging the state allows individuals who have never lived in Colorado to vote in its elections.

Finally, in television news, the first trailer for King of the Hill Season 15 has officially been released. The new season is scheduled to premiere on July 20 exclusively on Hulu.
