America the Beautiful

Sadly today, our children will not be taught in school the truth of the founding of our nation

Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings in the Lord. Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Holy Spirit has prompted me for weeks to write about the truth of the founding of the original 13 colonies which in God’s providence became the greatest nation in the world: The United States of America.  Our nation is second only to Israel in the eyes of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Sadly today, our children will not be taught in school the truth of the founding of our nation or that every major university began as a training ground for missionaries and that our Founding Fathers quoted scripture 33% of the time in their documents.  Our three branches of government; Judicial, Legislative, and Executive was formed from scripture; Isaiah 33: 22, “For the Lord is our judge. The Lord is our law-giver. The Lord is our king…”

My prayer is that the following will inspire American Patriots and all who hold sacred our Judeo-Christian heritage.

Deuteronomy 7: 6 “For you are a holy nation to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the nations on the earth, to be His own. 7 The Lord did not give you His love and choose you because you were more people than any of the nations. For the number of your people was less than all nations. 8 But it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the promise He made to your fathers. So, the Lord brought you out by a strong hand. He set you free from the land where you were servants, and from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know then that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God. He keeps His promise and shows His loving-kindness to those who love Him and keep His Laws, even to a thousand family groups in the future.”

Here is what Christopher Columbus himself said about coming to America:

“It was the Lord who put into my mind (I could feel his hand upon me) the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies. All who heard of my project rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me. There is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit, because He comforted me with rays of marvelous inspiration from the Holy Scriptures…

I am a most unworthy sinner, but I have cried out to the Lord for grace and mercy, and they have covered me completely. I have found the sweetest consolation since I made it my whole purpose to enjoy His marvelous presence. For the execution of the journey to the Indies, I did not make use of intelligence, mathematics or maps. It is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesied…

No one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Savior, if it is just and if the intention is purely for His holy service. The working out of all things has been assigned to each person by our Lord, but it all happens according to His sovereign will, even though He gives advice. He lacks nothing that it is in the power of men to give Him. Oh, what a gracious Lord, who desires that people should perform for Him those things for which He holds Himself responsible! Day and night, moment by moment, everyone should express their most devoted gratitude to Him.”1

Lastly, Columbus was a very religious man who believed that God had singled him out for his voyages of discovery.  Many of the names he gave to islands and lands he discovered were religious ones.  On his first landing in America, he named the island San Salvador, in hopes that the natives he had seen from the ship would find “salvation in Christ.”  My humble prayer is that those that do not know our Jesus (peace and comfort), or have walked away, will answer His gentle call for He loves you with an everlasting love.

May the Lord bless you and your loved ones as we continue to “war” for the soul of the “Eagle” – America.

Blessings,
