A New Beginning in Christ

Part 3

April 21, 2022 – Recap

The Vision:

During our private time on April 7, 10, and 11th (2022).  The Lord said, “I want to show you something.”  With that, we were in a heavily wooded area that reminded me of the woods that had become so familiar to me as a child growing up in Louisiana.  Always knowing my thoughts, He knew the scene brought back memories of spending time alone in the woods listening to birds and watching for animals.  We just stood there listening in silence and enjoying His creation.  After a while, He spoke again, “what do you think of the old tree?” With storms, especially following a hurricane, it was not unusual for trees to have been struck, uprooted, or fallen.  By its size, this particular tree (live oak) was majestic – very old and regal.  I did not have to answer verbally (after years, most of our time in non-verbal), I was thinking ‘it is a beautiful tree, and it is sad to see it on the ground, and wondered if birds, squirrels, or other animals had nested in the tree.’  Lastly, He said, “you are sad about the tree, do you think it will ever live again?”

Back in our private time, He continued, “I AM saddened when My Children have lost hope and believe they are like the tree.”  For the next few minutes, He showed me scene after scene of trials, tribulations, hardships – some of our own doing and others just living in a fallen world.  There was the pain of rejection and heartache from church leaders, fellow Christians, and others who were wolves in sheep’s clothing – no judgment, just various scenes.  There was more, but the last He talked about with a Father’s heart, “Like the noble tree, many of My Children believe their time is past and that I have forgotten them.  I AM the Everlasting God [El Olam, Genesis 21:33 – the flag of the everlasting tree flag flashed before me] and filled with Compassion [El Rachum, Deuteronomy 4:31 – the picture of the upside-down pineapple cake He had shown me] for the aged who have been tossed aside.”

As He spoke the words of Everlasting and Compassion, He showed me three more scenes.  We were back at a fallen tree but there had been a change.  Rather than useless or dead, new life was springing from the tree.  There were eight [new beginning] small trees growing with new life.  He continued, “When My Children [men and women] believe their time has passed, I AM the new beginning and Restoration.  [SHUV, 2 Samuel 16:11-12 – God of Restoration]  The next scene was of the eight trees bursting with new blossoms.  Besides their beauty, you could smell a pleasing fragrance as they enjoyed the sun.  [Son]  The last scene was brief – a pair of wedding rings with a radiance around them.  Our private time was over, and I knew to study what had been shown and spoken.

Baptism [Greek 908] (22 X):

  • Of John’s baptism, that purification rite by which men on confessing their sins were bound to spiritual reformation, obtained the pardon of their past sins, and became qualified for the benefits of the Messiah’s kingdom soon to be set up.
  • Of Christian baptism, a rite of immersion in water as commanded by Christ, by which one after confessing his sins and professing his faith in Christ, having been born again by the Holy Spirit unto a new life, identifies publicly with the fellowship of Christ and the church.

In his final instructions to his followers, Jesus is recorded as saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit.” [Matthew 28:19]

The Cleansing Flood

Genesis 6:5, 11–12 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So, God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.”

1 Peter 3:18-22For indeed Christ died for sins once for all, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; 19 in which He also went and preached to the spirits now in prison, 20 who once were disobedient, when the great patience of God was waiting in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons [Noah’s family], were brought safely through the water. 21 Corresponding to that [rescue through the flood], baptism [which is an expression of a believer’s new life in Christ] now saves you, not by removing dirt from the body, but by an appeal to God for a good (clear) conscience, [demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God [place of honor and authority], with angels and authorities and powers made subservient to Him.”

  • Baptism is a public representation of that which saves the believer—one’s faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah.

The Miracle of New Birth

The placenta’s alarm clock signals when it is time for birth to begin.

  • Time to push. The moment when the pregnancy ends and giving birth begins, it appears to be controlled by the set of membranes surrounding the fetus, which function as a clock. Drugs that slow down or speed up the clock could help ensure more babies are born close to the standard 40 weeks, giving more infants a fighting chance at life.  (Source)

  • A premature baby born at just 26 weeks in Los Angeles created medical history of sorts by giving a unique glimpse of life inside the womb. The baby born was born by C-section with the amniotic sac still intact. Now 10 weeks old (PowerPoint) he is a true medical rarity.  (Source)

Jesus

All four gospels report that, when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in the visible form of a dove, (Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32).

    • Matthew 3:13-17Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan, coming to John to be baptized by him. 14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I have the need to be baptized by You, and yet You are coming to me?” 15 But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. 16 After He was baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and settling/lighting [Abode – John 1:32] upon Him, 17 and behold, a voice from the heavens said, “This is My Son the beloved with whom I am well pleased.”

Water Baptism for a public act testifying of Jesus as Savior and the Remission of Sins

1 Corinthians 12:13For also in [the power of] one Spirit [we] have all been baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bondmen or free and have all been given to drink of one Spirit.” [Darby]

The baptism following repentance and forgiveness of sin is a public proclamation.

1 Corinthians 10:1-31 For I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that our forefathers were all under and protected by the cloud [in which God’s Presence went before them], and every one of them passed safely through the [Red] Sea, 2 And each one of them [allowed himself also] to be baptized into Moses in the cloud and the sea [the covenant, consecrated and set apart to the service of God]; 3 And all [of them] ate the same spiritual (supernaturally given) food.”

1 Corinthians 10:1-31 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat.” [KJV]

Baptized [G 907]: to follow Moses as a leader, 1 Corinthians 10:2. to indicate the effect: to unite together into one body by baptism, 1 Corinthians 12:13; to bring by baptism into fellowship with Christ, into fellowship in his death, by which fellowship we have died to sin, Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:3.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

From my study with Rabbi’s and Hebrew Scholars

Constructed of the mirrors of the Israelite women, the bronze laver represents a believer looking into Scripture as a mirror, seeing himself/herself for who he/she really is in light of the high standards of righteousness presented to us by our Messiah, Jesus Christ.

  • James 1:22-25 “22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.” [NASB]

The laver was the font where the priests washed before performing the service of the tabernacle.  The laver represents immersion or baptism for the remission of sins (Romans 6:3–6), and the washing of the water of the Word of Elohim (Ephesians 5:26), which are the steps a believer must take after being “washed” in the blood of Jesus and having one’s past sins atoned for after having been first saved.  The second high Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a picture of this ritual washing or immersion.  It was most likely on this day that the children of Israel crossed through the Red Sea and were “baptized” by Moses (as we covered a minute ago in 1 Corinthians 10:12).

In Exodus 30:19-21 Aaron and his sons are instructed to wash their hands and feet before ministering in the tabernacle “so that they do not die.”  Hands and feet represent our actions and our ways.  Similarly, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples at the Last Supper (John 13:4–11), thus ritually cleansing them for spiritual ministry.  We have covered that a man/woman must be immersed (baptized) for the remission of sins thus identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus resulting in the newness of spiritual life that comes to each of us as a result thereof (Romans 6:3–14).  As noted, immersion speaks of the washing of the water of the Word of Elohim (Psalms 119:9; Ephesians 5:26).  Through Jesus living in us, our actions (hands) and our ways (feet) will are being transformed (metamorphosed) into His image.

Exodus 38:8 – We are told how the laver and its base of bronze were made.

  • “He made the laver and its base of bronze from the mirrors of the women who ministered at the door of the Tent of Meeting.”  from the mirrors of the women who ministered at the door of the Tent of Meeting.”

The laver was not made of copper from the regular contributions. The laver was made exclusively from the brightly polished sheets of copper that women used as mirrors in Egypt. When the call went out for freewill contributions, devout women, who used to come to Moses’ tent to sit at his feet as Mary did with Jesus, came with their copper mirrors and piled them up at Moses’ dwelling, which was God’s Tent of Meeting before building the Tabernacle (Exodus 33:7).  Moses was said to be reluctant to accept such a gift for God’s Tabernacle.  The story goes that Moses was afraid these mirrors were connected to lust, but God told Moses that he was wrong, because these very mirrors had been instrumental in saving His nation.  According to Jewish tradition, in Egypt, when the men came home exhausted every night from their heavy labors, their wives used these mirrors to adorn themselves so they could continue normal marital relations.  Thanks to these brightly polished copper mirrors, legions of children were born.

God not only told Moses to accept these precious mirrors, but they were to be used exclusively to fabricate the laver.  Scripture does not specify the size of the laver because every single mirror had to go into fashioning it, no matter how big it would become.  These mirrors were sacred in God’s eyes.  From then on out, these devout women could no longer gaze upon themselves with any vanity in their mirror.  They had to fix their eyes upon the laver to see themselves.  One aspect of the Copper Laver is that it represents bridal lovers fixing their eyes on the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2) as well as His living water flowing wherever they go in what they do.

When we look into the water of the Word and see our reflection against the standards of the righteousness of Christ, we come up short.  Nevertheless, when Arron and the priests washed their bloody hands in the water of the laver – blood and water mingled.  Through the blood of Jesus, we measure up in the eyes of our Father, are viewed as Paul wrote:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:21For our sake He made Christ to be sin Who knew no sin so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being] the righteousness of God in Christ.”

When we look at the Word through the blood, that is who we are.  From Jesus’s side came forth blood and water.  This points to the bronze laver where blood and water mixed to redeem us from judgment (represented by bronze) against our pride and rebellion (pride is a reference to the mirrors used to make the laver ).  Blood represents atonement and water represents both the Word (Jesus) and the Spirit of Elohim.

  • 1 John 5:8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water and the blood, and these three are one.”

Deuteronomy 17:6On the testimony of two witnesses or three witnesses, the condemned shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.” (Deuteronomy 19:15) [NASB]

2 Corinthians 13:1This is the third time that I am coming to you. On the testimony of two or three witnesses, every matter shall be confirmed.”

So, in the Torah (Pentateuch) and New Testament, the Spirit teaches us that every legal matter is to be determined in the mouth of two or three witnesses.  Like John, we can view these three as distinct and separate witnesses.  Each plays a role in and testifies to man’s redemption by the Lord our God.

  • Blood points to remission of past sins
  • Water points to the washing, renewing, and cleansing of the inner man and being conformed to the image of Jesus
  • Jesus the Christ – John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt [tabernacled] among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

At the bronze laver, these three elements came together.

The Ecclesia – see a reflection in the Word of God

Ephesians 5:25-2625 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” [KJV]

  • [G 846] he, she, it

Titus 3:5He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.” [AMP]

The conclusion from Part 2 – to Part 3

Baptism is a sign of repentance and accepting Jesus Christ as your/my savior.  According to the teachings in the New Testament, the disciples of Jesus Christ (Jew and Gentile) progressed from being baptized in the baptism of John the Baptist (the baptism of repentance), to being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – the baptism into Jesus Christ.

We covered the only time in the New Testament where Jesus breathed on His disciples, and they received the Holy Spirit.  Yet, even with that, He told them to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued (clothed) with power by the Holy Spirit.  We know that occurred on Pentecost.

Acts 9:17So Ananias left and went into the house. And he laid his hands on Saul and said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you along the way by which you came here, has sent me that you may recover your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 8:17-19Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit. Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 19:6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.”

Being filled with the Holy Spirit can happen at once, separate, or unknown to the individual – my experience in the hospital.

Tongues of Fire Appear on Believers During Mozambique Worship Service

July 30, 2016

The photo was taken in 2005 by a team member who was part of a mission trip to Mozambique Africa.  At the time the photo was taken, they were having an intense worship session and dancing with joy, as they were setting up to show the Jesus film.

The mission trip was led by James Goll, on July 11, 2016, James Goll posted the following comment on his Facebook page regarding this photo:

  • “This picture was probably one of the major highlights in Michal Ann’s (his wife) travels and ministry that took her around the globe.  This photo is not doctored up in any manner.  This was in Pemba, Mozambique.  I think when Michal Ann was ministering.  Flames of fire, like in Acts 2, appeared.  Come on Jesus, baptize us in the Holy Spirit and fire!”

Water Baptism (immersion) to Baptized (endued, clothed) with the Spirit and Power.

The book of Acts begins with Jesus’ parting words to His apostles before His ascension to the right hand of God the Father.  In His opening statement, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, and He does this by distinguishing the coming of the Spirit from the baptism of John.  Acts 1:5For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” In Matthew 3:11John had testified the same of his baptism, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33)

Peter and the other Apostles had already been born again.  But only then were they baptized by the Holy Spirit.  Remember that Jesus had said in the upper room:

  • John 14:17The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.” [AMP]

From Scripture we know by the Lord’s own words that the time they would receive the Spirit would be after He ascended to heaven:

  • John 16:7-8But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper [Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor] will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment.”

In Part 2, we covered the disciples (all but Thomas) who received (breathed upon) the Holy Spirit on the day of the resurrection. (John 20:19). Seven weeks, or fifty (50) days later, the 120 believers gathered at Pentecost and received the indwelling (clothing) of Power and Authority in Jesus – the Christ.

How many days were there between Jesus’ ascension to Heaven and Pentecost?

Ephesians 1:13 In Him, you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped (sealed) with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.”

  • Sealed [G 4972] to stamp (with a signet or private mark) for security or preservation (literally or figuratively).  Metaphorically: respecting God, who by the gift of the Holy Spirit indicates who is his, passive.  [Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:22]

John 20:21-23 21 [Jesus] said therefore again to them, Peace [be] to you: as the Father sent me forth, I also send you. 22 And having said this, he breathed into [them], and says to them, receive [the] Holy Spirit: 23 whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; whose soever [sins] ye retain, they are retained.”

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” [KJV]

  • Endued [G 1746] (2 X): in the sense of sinking into a garment; to invest with clothing (literally or figuratively):—array, clothe (with), endue, have (put) on.
  • Power [G 1411]: doo’-nam-is; force (literally or figuratively); specially, miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself):—ability, abundance, meaning, might, (worker of) miracles, power, mighty (wonderful) work.
  • From [G 1537]: a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (direct or remote abundantly above).
  • High [G 5311]: (6 X) height: properly, of measure, Ephesians 3:18; Revelation 21:16; of place, heaven.

Jesus – without measure

John 3:34-36 For He whom God sent speaks the words of God; for He does not give the Spirit sparingly (measure) [generously and boundlessly]. 35 The Father loves the Son and has entrusted all things to His hand. 36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who does not obey [in belief] the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

Jesus – The “Anointed One”

What Does Yeshua Ha Mashiach mean?

Yeshua HaMashiach (Yeh-SHOO-ah Ha-Mah-SHEE-akh) is Hebrew for “Jesus the Messiah.”  Yeshua is a shortened version of the name Yehoshua (Yeh-HO-shoo-ah), which means “Adonai saves.”  Mashiach is the Hebrew word for Messiah and means “anointed one.”

Old Covenant Scriptures speak of the coming Messiah who would be God’s anointed One to deliver Israel and all mankind.  Most Jewish people living at the time of Jesus believed the Messiah would physically save them from their oppression under Roman rule.  They did not recognize that the prophets foretold a much greater freedom.

Israel has had many enemies over the millennia, but none so dangerous as the one who seeks to keep her from recognizing God’s sole provision for eternal reconciliation to Him.  Satan prowls and roars, schemes and steals, attacks, and accuses (1 Peter 5:8, John 10:10, Ephesians 6:16, Revelation 12:10).  He does everything in his power to mislead, blind, confuse and distract people, particularly the Jewish people, from the Messiah.

While the Jewish people looked for a savior to physically free them from bondage to Rome, God sent Yeshua HaMashiach to spiritually save us from bondage to sin, offering us eternal spiritual freedom.

Mysteries of the Truth Revealed by Holy Spirit

Mystery/Mysteries

[H 7328], [Greek 3466]

A hidden or secret [Hebrew – OT, used 9 X’s] thing, not obvious to the understanding, a hidden purpose or counsel, secret will of God: the secret counsels which govern God in dealing with the righteous, which are hidden from ungodly and wicked men but plain to the godly in rabbinic writings, it denotes the mystic or hidden sense of an OT saying of an image or form seen in a vision, of a dream.

Daniel 2:28However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed.”

Daniel 4:9O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no mystery baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.”

Matthew 13:11Jesus answered them, ‘To you, it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them, it has not been granted.’”

Mark 4:11 And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables.”

Luke 8:10 And He said, “To you, it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest, it is in parables so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.”

Ephesians 3:8-9 8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out], 9 Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan [regarding the Gentiles the salvation of all men] of the mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of] God Who created all things by Christ Jesus.”

Romans 16:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past.”

Third Person of the Trinity

Ruach HaKodesh

The Force be with you – Holy Spirit is portrayed by Hollywood as a mysterious force of the Jedi or a power wielded by releasing the mind to the realm of the spirit.  In paranormal activity, He is often confused as a ghost or immaterial substance.  By in large, in structured religion, He is an invisible spirit who is ignored or only mentioned in conjunction with the “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” during baptism.  Without instruction from, Scripture – too many Christians have no idea who He is or how He works in our life.

Does it even matter?

Yes, it matters as He, the Holy Spirit, is the third Person of the Trinity.  Though distinct from one another in relation to the natural (physical) and spiritual dimensions and manifestation, they are equal in the Godhead.  We will cover a few of the attributes of the Holy Spirit to gain a better understanding.

Perfect fullness of the Holy Spirit

Revelation 1:4-54 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.”

“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:” (Revelation 3:1)

Revelation 3:1He who has the seven spirits [seven fold fullness of Holy Spirit] of God and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, and yet you are dead.”

Revelation 4:5Out from the throne came flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder, and in front of the throne, seven blazing torches burned, which are the seven Spirits of God. [the sevenfold Holy Spirit]

Seven Lamps of Fire

  • Daniel 10:4-64 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris, 5 I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man dressed in linen, whose waist had a belt of pure gold of Uphaz [famous for its gold]. 6 His body also was like beryl [H 8658 gold colored], his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms, and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude.”

Eyes of the Lord

  • Revelation 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”
  • Zechariah 3:9 For behold, upon the stone which I have set before Joshua, upon that one stone are seven eyes or facets [the all-embracing providence of God and the sevenfold radiations [Glory] of the Spirit of God]. Behold, I will carve upon it its inscription, says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity and guilt of this land in a single day.”
  • Zechariah 4:10 Who despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice when they see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. The seven are the eyes of the Lord roaming throughout the earth.”
  • 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and forth throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.”

Holy Spirit will Testify of Jesus

John 15:26 When the comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, namely, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, He will testify about Me.”

John 16:13-14 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you.”

“Seven Attributes” of the Holy Spirit are identified in Isaiah

Isaiah 11:1-2 And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord.”

  1. Spirit of the Lord.
  2. Spirit of Wisdom.
  3. Spirit of Understanding.
  4. The Spirit of Counsel.
  5. Spirit of Might.
  6. Spirit of Knowledge.
  7. Spirit of Fear.

To be continued…

The seven spirits from God comprise God’s seven “qualities” of the Holy Spirit. These also speak to the completeness of the Spirit, and this fullness of the Spirit which rested on the Lord Jesus.
